With the regularity of a metronome, Mama Jaz returns in April for its eleventh edition, with major concerts on Wednesdays and free concerts on Sundays. The spotlight is on Ila Rio and Sarah Honoré, who present their new Mama Jaz creations. Meanwhile, from April 23, the Ateli er Mo’Zar celebrates its 30th anniversary with four concerts under the title Jaz Net! Dominique Bellier
Mama Jaz and Ila Rio present ” Rezonans” on April 15 at Galerie du Génie. The singer of Kouraz and Sanze teams up with Vincent Nombro, Asheel Tymun and Jason Kong for this new stage in a journey, where aplomb and finesse sharpenfrom track to track. Another Mama Jaz creation, Sarah Honoré presents “Lamour, Lavi & Lamor”, in collaboration with Tharun Seeburruth (keyboard, vocals and percussion), a beautiful and powerful experiment, a journey “from happiness to absurdity, from cynicism to confidence, while contemplating the rituals that unite and disconnect all lives”. See you at the same venue, on April 22, at 8 p.m. Other Wednesday concerts include Yvette Dantier’s “Fler Latmosfer” , “Evey ” with Jean-Noël Ladouce, the Desvaux brothers and Jalil Auckbaraulee, followed by the Samuel Laval quintet.
The free Sunday concerts will this time bring the whole Edith complex to life, outdoors for a Jazz, Food & Family Festival, under the chapter “Park La Mi Fa”…Music will be distilled at will from noon to 10pm every Sunday, with a live concert from3pm to 4:30pm. Philip Thomas Quartet opens the ball on April 5, followed on the 12th by Samuel Saïde and Jessie Jolicœur; then Nel Bucktowar, Nitish Boojhawon and Neriyen Veerlapin; and the Manu Desroches trio.
