Grégory Rougier-Lagane, efficiency, proactivity… and determination!

After graduating with a degree in management and economics, Grégory Rougier-Lagane set out to conquer the supply chain in all its forms. Sales forecaster, supply and demand manager, trainer and facilitator… he knows the subject like the back of his hand! Having arrived at Espace Maison in March, he already sees a future for the company, one of efficiency and modernity.

First and foremost, it was Grégory’s love of a challenge that led him to join Espace Maison. “I understood that we were looking to further improve the supply chain and develop a new purchasing tool: it was a challenge I immediately wanted to take up”, he explains. And the new Supply Manager is not afraid of a challenge! A former top-level sportsman and Maurice cycling champion in 2019, he has an eye for detail and hard work, and a perpetual desire to improve.

Responsible for managing, distributing and transporting stock across Espace Maison stores, he must constantly analyze sales to react quickly and efficiently to demand, while developing a reliable strategy for the medium and long term. As well as handling negotiations with suppliers, Grégory has the exciting task of discovering new products, in line with both customer demands and Espace Maison values.

While innovation is part of the company’s DNA, it also makes a point of adopting sustainable practices. In addition to distributing B Corp-certified products, it is committed to reducing its environmental impact through strong initiatives. Its acacia tables are a good example: for every tree cut down, Espace Maison plants a new one in return, through its supplier.

“We also favor the circular economy and local sourcing: pool salts, glass, wood, potting soil are all products we buy locally to protect Mauritius’ heritage and reduce dependence on imports,” adds Grégory. While he intends to build on the momentum already generated by the company, he already perceives an essential cultural change at Espace Maison, particularly in terms of its commercial offering and supply chain.

In addition to automated purchasing and efforts to reduce the risk of breakage, Grégory has a clear vision: that of a healthy company in constant search of innovation, which favors seasonal workers. And he has no shortage of new ideas to implement. “I’d like us to continue to embody a company that fosters employee fulfillment. Encouraging the development of skills and responsibilities is one of my priorities,” he concludes.
