This year, Mo’Zar is fulfilling an old dream of its founder, the late José Thérèse, by presenting a varied program under the title “Jaz Net”, celebrating 30 years of sharing and transmission, of work and creation. Some 2,000 young people have passed through the Roche-Bois music workshop. Some are flying high today. In addition to masterclasses and a round-table discussion, Jaz Net is cooking up four concerts in collaboration with the IFM and bookeuse Nina Haven, who is following the international trajectory of a number of young Mo’Zartiens…
The first concert is scheduled for April 24 at the IFM, with the Mauritian trio Akinroots and the ZennVie, a group made up of Mo’Zar members of all ages, as opening acts. The IFM will host a second concert on April 25 with the group BèlèVerde, opening a window on Creole jazz with Cape Verdean and Martinique accents, concocted by Philippe Gouyer-Montout and Timothée Isnard, with Manu Desroches as a special guest. On April 30, International Jazz Day or “Trant’an Jaz Mo’Zar” at the Caudan Arts Centre: Triton, Manu Desroches, Marie-Luce Faron, Linley Marthe, Akinroots and BèlèVerde will join the Mo’Zar tribe for a great party… which will be extended on May 2, in the heights of the Otentic Eco Tent, for “Jam Ansam”!
