Over 40 years ago, Plaisir du Jardin was born, a store selling outdoor furniture and accessories – a first at the time! Starting out as a dream shared by two friends, this pioneering company, first established in South Africa and Brussels, soon became involved in numerous projects in Europe. Six years ago, it touched down in Mauritius… and has gone from strength to strength!
It was in Pointe aux Canonniers that the Mauritian adventure began, and it’s here that it continues: at the end of November, Plaisir du Jardin expanded into a new showroom of over 900 m2bright and beautifully decorated. While the location has changed – hardly at all! -the philosophy of the famous brand remains the same: to offer outdoor spaces that are as elegant as they are comfortable, with a variety of classic, contemporary and innovative designs thanks to the materials used.

The essential address for patio and garden design doesn’t rest on its already well-stocked catalog either, and is constantly adding new products to its list of iconic and exclusive international brands. These include Fermob, Pebl and Sika Design, a Danish furniture brand that has been designing award-winning models by renowned designers such as Viggo Boesen and Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel since 1936.
In addition to classic materials, the store offers innovative choices, such as beautiful furniture in alu-rattan – aluminum designed to resemble rattan thanks to polyethylene fibers – a material handcrafted in Indonesia, giving it unique strength and durability.
