Last month at LUX* Le Morne, Christophe Durand – owner of South African estate Dorrance Wines, based in the heart of Cape Town and founded with his wife (and muse) in 2000 – presented the subtleties and secrets of his award-winning, French-inspired crus, exported to over fifteen countries.
The hotel’s Food & Beverage team attended an oenology workshop, perfecting the personalized service associated with LUX* Group standards. Hotel residents and wine lovers alike enjoyed a dinner carefully matched to the finest vintages of the guest of honor, who shared his expertise, passion and love of the terroir.
For the record, his first cuvée (Syrah) is a tribute to his eldest daughter: Cuvée Ameena. The second (Chardonnay), born in 2004, is named after her other daughter: Cuvée Anaïs.
