The future champions of the Ola Cycling Academy

The Ola Cycling Academy helps young cyclists get their foot in the door so that Mauritian cycling can enjoy a new era of glory. Open to 10 to 16 year-olds, the academy teaches future champions the techniques and values of the sport. ZAK

Michael Kedhoo and José Achille are the two Academy Managers & Coaches behind the project. The Academy is the brainchild of Laurence Wong, himself a former cycling champion and CEO of Aryze/Ola.

The program offered to the youngsters includes three training sessions a week at the Jin Fei complex. The academy is intended as a platform for “training and progression” towards local and international competitions. The project has been developed in close collaboration with the Mauritian Cycling Federation, guaranteeing a training program in line with the discipline’s standards.

“The Ola Cycling Academy is an initiative that embodies our values and commitment to society, giving young people the opportunity to dream, progress and surpass themselves,” says Laurence. For the two coaches: “Cycling is a school of life: it teaches discipline, respect, road safety and solidarity. We believe that this academy can not only reveal future champions, but also train committed and well-balanced citizens.”

For the Ola water brand, the opening of this academy is above all a way of actively investing in the sustainable development and fulfillment of the Mauritian community, by contributing to health, sport and collective well-being.
