The Maurice pour l’espoir Collection

The ritual has been repeated every year for 32 years! The Immedia agency brings together the authors and partners of the Maurice Collection to launch the new issue. The theme of 2025 was intended to instill a note of hope in readers, despite the gloom of the times, which in the magazine’s three languages means Awakening, Nouvel envol and Lanprint lavenir.

This new edition contains 36 short stories and novellas by 31 authors. 13 are in English, 14 in French and 9 in Kreol Morisyen. Mauritius’s leading international writers, such as Ananda Devi and Lindsey Collen, rub shoulders with authors who are used to surprising their readers, such as Aqiil Gopee, Jean Lindsay Dhookit, Dini Lallah and Bettina Cadinouche.

The majority of these writers are regulars, who each year faithfully and meticulously compose the story inspired by the imposed theme. Then there are five new contributors, whose texts were selected by the reading committee: Raj Dansinghani, Cédric Léopold, Mélissa Louis, Yovan Latour and Maita Wogram. Not to mention the uninvited guest, whose texts have been avoided, as Rama Poonoosamy assures us: artificial intelligence!
