On July 25, the RMClub Forbach welcomed back our young medal winners from the <\/b>para-athletics world championships in Paris and bearing another piece of excellent news: the qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games of four Mauritian athletes who finished in the top four in the finals of each individual event!<\/b><\/p>\n
Roberto Michel, 23, took fourth place in the T34 100-meter final, while Ana\u00efs Angeline’s second attempt in the T37 long jump also put her in fourth place. Meanwhile, 27-year-old para-athlete No\u00e9mie Alphonse is runner-up in the 100-meter T54 (16.05) and bronze medallist in the 400-meter T54 (53.63), as is her compatriot Yovani Philippe, in the 400-meter T20 (47.58), with a breathtaking comeback in the last 100 meters. RMClub is the official partner of the athlete who has not finished thrilling Mauritian handisport! <\/p>\n
The letter T refers to running and jumping events. The number corresponds to the classification of physical impairments (classes 30, 40, 50), sensory impairments (class 10) and intellectual impairments (class 20). <\/p>\n
On another note, the 7<\/b>e<\/sup><\/b> edition of the Beachcomber trail attracted some 1,300 runners on Sunday July 30. <\/b>on the start line of the three events – the <\/b>trail du Sud Sauvage (60 km), du Nautile (25 km) and du Souffleur (10 km) – offering some of the most beautiful <\/b>southern panoramas.<\/b><\/p>\n Festive, family-friendly, convivial… but also challenging<\/i> and technical, with its vertiginous climbs and cliff-side courses, the 2023 event was sponsored by five-time Mauritian record-holder Marie Perrier. Maryam Berthault took the podium in this year’s queen race, clocking 9 hours 53 minutes and 17 seconds, while Judicael Sautron from Reunion, making his third appearance, won the men’s race after 7 hours 56 minutes and 41 seconds. “It’s a course that’s both technical and wild, the likes of which you don’t see on Reunion Island!
