From <\/b>May 15-20, 2023<\/b><\/span>oenophiles and celebrities <\/b>renowned<\/b><\/span> from the world of wine will gather for the 6<\/b>e<\/sup><\/b><\/span> edition of the “La Paul\u00e9e” event organized by Constance Hotels & Resorts Mauritius. Another fine program of exchanges and sharing, as the hotel group knows so well how to organize them, which will once again welcome domains <\/b>winegrowing <\/b><\/span>of prestige.<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

Gastronomic festivals and competitions with starred and renowned chefs, wine tastings and regular exchanges with the world’s best winemakers… at Constance Hotels & Resorts, there’s no shortage of culinary and wine <\/span>initiatives! The next event will be the Paul\u00e9e, a tribute to the Paul\u00e9e de Meursault which traditionally celebrates the end of the grape harvest in Burgundy. The aim? To create a moment of sharing between winemakers, customers and sommeliers <\/span>, while enriching the knowledge of wine professionals <\/span>at the group’s two Mauritian hotels. “La Paul\u00e9e aims to create an oenological experience for guests and helps our sommeliers enrich their expertise and progress towards excellence. This annual gathering has become a true benchmark for wine lovers. Our guests enjoy<\/span> meeting leading figures from the wine world for workshops, and our sommeliers appreciate the training courses on offer,” explains J\u00e9r\u00f4me Faure, Corporate Sommelier at Constance Hotels & Resorts. <\/span><\/p>\n

A popular event for sommeliers <\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

For J\u00e9r\u00f4me Faure, it remains essential for sommeliers to meet winemakers to gain a better understanding of wines and their origins. It’s at an event like this one that this learning process comes to the fore. “For several years now, within the hotel group, we have attached great importance to the development of our teams. In Mauritius, we don’t have any vineyards. So it’s a unique opportunity to have winemakers come and share their expertise. Through these exchanges with them, sommeliers acquire <\/span>knowledge about the history of wines, how they are made and <\/span>the terroir, which is indispensable in our profession.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Prestigious estates are expected <\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

A number of winemakers will be making the trip to Mauritius to present their wines <\/span>in the form of wine and food pairing dinners. They include: Domaine Devillard (Burgundy), Domaine Pierre Jean Villa(Rh\u00f4ne Valley <\/span>), Domaine Nouemarinic (Slovenia) and Domaine Julien Schaal (Alsace & South Africa).
