The Mama Jaz team joins him for the whole month of April, every weekend. <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>,  <\/b><\/span><b>to combine the charm of tall trees, beautiful stones and cobbled streets, with the grooves and melodies of Mauritian and international jazz. Let the nights of Port-Louis live again! <\/b> <em>Dominique Bellier<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Of course, throughout April, Mama Jaz continues to offer its daily <i>Minit Mazik<\/i> on social networks, as well as its free live <i>Mama Pik Nik<\/i> on Sunday afternoons, in Beau-Plan on the lawns of <span class=\"s1\">Creative Park<\/span>. There will also be a unique concert at the Caudan Arts Centre with one of the biggest names in international jazz at the moment, saxophonist Steve Coleman<span class=\"s1\">,<\/span> with three musicians from the <i>Five Elements<\/i>, landing in Mauritius for International Jazz Day on April 30. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">But this new edition of Mama Jaz will take place at the Caf\u00e9 du Vieux Conseil from Friday evening to Sunday evening, with two daytime events on Saturday&#8230; All in all, 25 live performances will be offered, 8 <span class=\"s1\">platforms<\/span> will be open to musical interaction (including amateur musicians on Saturday daytime) and 4 forums will provide an opportunity to remake the world&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Port-Louis program begins with a kind of<span class=\"s1\"><i>afterwork<\/i><\/span> on Friday evening, with Block Party, where electro meets live music from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m&#8230; Saturday, <span class=\"s1\"><i>Lizour<\/i><\/span> from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.<span class=\"s1\">,<\/span> with debates and musical improvisations open to the public, before moving on to the three-part programme of <span class=\"s1\"><i>Sanngat!<\/i><\/span> program in the evening&#8230; Finally, <i>Douser<\/i> will recharge the batteries on Sunday evening<span class=\"s1\">, in<\/span> anticipation of the following weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mamajaz.org.\">mamajaz.org.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the past 16 months, producer Jimmy Veerapen has been breathing new life into the Caf\u00e9 du Vieux Conseil in the historic heart of Port-Louis, combining musical creation with good food.
