{"id":36424,"date":"2025-06-19T09:00:26","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T05:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lagazette-mag.io\/?p=36424"},"modified":"2025-06-19T09:00:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T05:00:26","slug":"moris-orkestra-on-the-road-to-its-4th-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lagazette-mag.io\/en\/moris-orkestra-on-the-road-to-its-4th-academy\/","title":{"rendered":"Moris Orkestra, on the road to its 4th academy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><b>The day after their  <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>3<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><sup>e<\/sup><\/b><\/span><b>  Following the success of the music academy and the five concerts given at the end of April, the masterminds behind Moris Orkestra (MO) began to prepare for the 2026 edition of this ambitious and necessary project.<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>,<\/b><\/span><b>  that democratizes music, trains the artists of tomorrow, composes and innovates, breaks down barriers between styles and appeals to all audiences&#8230; The sixty participants  <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>to this adventure,  <\/b><\/span><b>of which  <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>twelve<\/b><\/span><b>  fourteen days of maximum musical intensity, and not without a lot of hard work.  <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>familiar<\/b><\/span><b>  to the generous repertoire played.  <\/b><em>Dominique Bellier<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Imagine ravanne specialist Kurty O&#8217;Clou, with his huge natties and village chief looks, at the heart of a symphony orchestra<span class=\"s1\">,<\/span> striking his instrument to <i>Mo Belmer, a <\/i>true <span class=\"s1\">sega<\/span> classic. This experience was offered during the two closing concerts of the 2025 Academy at the Caudan Arts Centre. Just as it blends naturally with jazz, s\u00e9ga harmonizes perfectly with string instruments, classical winds and percussion, provided that quality arrangers, composers, teachers and performers take an interest in it&#8230; This is what MO has been doing for several years, and this is William Ross&#8217;s vision for the country&#8217;s musical development.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">MO&#8217;s father and his compatriot, singer Mathieu Michel, both performers and music teachers at conservatories in France, have surrounded themselves with specialists, for example, for Cholo, their chamber group, or rather the laboratory of experimentation and first encounters between Western classical and Mauritian musical heritage&#8230; This core group embodies stylistic audacity and the constructive reappropriation of the term <i>cholo<\/i>, which once referred to sega and its practitioners with a terribly disdainful pout.
