These bags are certainly no ordinary items: part of the “Aircrafted by Emirates” collection, they give a second life to materials recovered from the company’s aircraft interiors. Seat fabrics from Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, treated and then transformed and handcrafted by Emirates Engineering in Dubai… Each bag tells a story of sustainability and innovation! Sturdy and practical, they have also been filled with educational materials – pencils, notebooks, storybooks and drawing books – to provide concrete support for the educational journey of the young beneficiaries. <\/p>\n
Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands, accompanied by the local team, personally distributed the bags to APEIM students, teachers and supervisors. For him, education remains one of the most powerful tools for shaping society and inspiring the next generation. This donation enables us to support the students with a practical object that accompanies them on a daily basis, while sharing a piece of the company’s history, which has been serving Mauritius for over 23 years. <\/p>\n
Worldwide, the Aircrafted initiative has already distributed over 3,700 bags in 10 countries, in collaboration with 18 non-governmental organizations – an approach that combines environmental responsibility, educational support and tangible social impact! Present in Mauritius since 2002, Emirates is also involved, in one way or another, in the island’s development – a position illustrated by this donation, synonymous with sustainable investment in the communities served by the airline. <\/p>\n
