We’re about to discover her as author and composer in <\/b>I often forget that it’s only ZAMETROTAR<\/i><\/b><\/span>which she presents from March 26 to 28 at the Caudan Arts Centre, colored by the <\/b>” <\/b><\/span>Zafer<\/b> “<\/b><\/span> by Pascal Lagesse…<\/b> Dominique Bellier<\/em><\/p>\n

The paintings by Pascal, who shares her life, will tell the<\/span> story of the thirteen songs Carol has written and will perform on a 10 x 6-meter screen. “I prepared them in parts,” explains the “Zafer <\/span>” painter ,<\/span>“so that Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Antoinette could set these images in motion, and create the animations that illustrate each track.” Originally intended as a character, the show evolved into this one-man show, halfway between musical comedy and stand-up, where the painting comes to life. <\/p>\n

The fruit of personal introspection, the message is both humanistic and universal. The images recreate colorful landscapes, enamelled with <\/span>multiple geometric motifs inspired by Van Gogh. In this idyllic bath of a reinvented Pays de Cocagne, the marvellous meets the poetry of a life revisited at the dawn of middle age. In exploring her history, Carol has sought the essence of things. <\/p>\n

Among his sources of inspiration is the <\/span>departure of a friend whose family went into exile in another country, which<\/span> is part of the history of many Mauritians , and<\/span> which “Sur un nuage gris” evokes with the sweetness of childhood. The influences come <\/span>from the chanson \u00e0 texte genre, and the languages are Mauritian French and Kreol. The music is directed and arranged by Chris Arles, and the staging by Sandrine Raghoonauth. This show is a first in the lives of the artistic couple, and it will be a first for the audience too… <\/p>\n
