The screenings, master classes, and   <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>exchanges <\/b><\/span><b>have demonstrated the sector\u2019s dynamism, though it remains undervalued\u2026<\/b> <em>Dominique Bellier<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rubika offers training in the design, scriptwriting, and production of 2D and 3D animated films, which includes character design, illustration, and motion design (graphic animation)\u2026 Since 2023, about fifteen Mauritian students have graduated, with the <span class=\"s1\">third year <\/span>of the program taking place abroad. Among those currently completing their <span class=\"s1\">bachelor\u2019s degrees<\/span>at Rubika in Valenciennes and Montreal, the Bissonault sisters recently had one of their films selected for a Canadian film festival. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here, for example, three students created <i>*Huego*<\/i>, the story of a mischievous little dragon\u2014as endearing as a dog\u2014who bursts into the solitary life of a widower. <i>*Luana*<\/i>, by Anna Baron and Loris Lorenzi, depicts a moment of connection between a girl and her father,<i>while *In Bloom*<\/i>, by Lila Chaleon and April H\u00e9l\u00e8ne, contrasts the delicate world of a young girl with the harsh realities of the world around her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For example, 2D animator Noa Nany described how his film <i>*Ind\u00e9pendance*<\/i>, which fosters a sense of national unity in Mauritius, created a buzz on social media. He emphasized Mauritius\u2019s uniqueness: \u201c Never forget your culture; that\u2019s what will set you apart from other animators.\u201d The roundtable discussion, which brought together five professionals to discuss the future of the profession, revealed confidence in the country\u2019s potential\u2014provided we create an ecosystem, <span class=\"s1\">better <\/span>promote our creations, and <span class=\"s1\">build <\/span>connections in the region.
