Every year, the Legends Tour, formerly known as the European Senior Tour, takes the best professional golfers over 50 on an exciting round-the-world tour: Turkey, Barbados, Spain, USA, Scotland, Italy… A journey that ends on our island in December!

Known for its magnificent pristine beach, sparkling lagoon, exceptional service and undeniable passion, the Constance Belle Mare Plage hotel is also, for a few days, the last stop on the famous Legends Tour, a competition created in 1992. As its name suggests, this event brings together many legends of the sport, but also allows them to discover some of the world’s finest and most beautiful golf courses.

Since 2011, the MCB Mauritius Legends international championship concludes at the Legend Golf Course on the sublime east coast. A former hunting reserve redesigned as a par-72 course by renowned South African golfer Hugh Baiocchi, this natural setting, bordered by lush forest and dotted with elegant water features, offers players a timeless bubble. A true jewel, the 17e hole – a spectacular par-3 overlooking a coastal inlet – delights players every year.

Peter Baker, reigning champion of the MCB Mauritius Legends for the past two years, fondly recalls his last foray onto the iconic hole, where against all odds he managed a birdie two birdie. The golfer can’t wait to set foot on Constance Belle Mare Plage. “Mauritius is a beautiful island and the people are so welcoming – we love coming back. The hotel is first class, the food is wonderful and the course is a great challenge,” he confides.

A sentiment echoed by Constance Hotels & Resorts: “We look forward to welcoming players and guests to the Legend Golf Course, a world-class stage for competition, and to offering them an unforgettable stay at Constance Belle Mare Plage,” says Jean-Jacques Vallet, CEO of the hotel group. Rendezvous from December 4 to 9: the clash between Peter Baker and Australia’s Scott Hend, currently top of the leaderboard, promises to be a tough one!
