Opened in 2018 and located on the island’s east coast, the establishment, which over time has become a key player in authentic hospitality and Mauritian identity, blew out its seventh candle with a whole series of activities under the sign of connection.
As part of this commemoration, a day of immersive experiences was organized, open to guests, the local community and the hotel’s partners. The program, built around seven signature experiences, aimed to symbolize each year of SALT of Palmar’s existence, while highlighting principles such as innovation, sustainability and valuing human interaction.
Over the course of the day, participants were invited to take part in a variety of workshops. These included culinary sessions, moments dedicated to well-being, artisan discoveries and nature-related activities. The event also highlighted the hotel’s involvement in the local economic and cultural fabric, by collaborating with a selection of Mauritian creators, craftsmen and experts, confirming its support for the island’s know-how.
The evening concluded with a seven-course gourmet dinner prepared by chefs Shiva and Visham. This themed meal offered an exploration of the flavors that have helped forge the establishment’s culinary identity, reflecting the creativity and collaborative approach within the SALT teams.
“These seven years represent much more than an anniversary: they tell the story of a collective adventure of encounters, sharing and passion. SALT is first and foremost a place where we connect with what’s essential, with people, with our island and with what gives hospitality meaning,” said hotel manager Raj Reedoy, summing up the establishment’s philosophy.
At the close of this celebration, SALT of Palmar reaffirms its direction for the future. The hotel intends to pursue its development while remaining true to its founding values: tourism focused on people, sustainability, and strong integration with its territory, where each stay is designed to offer a narrative experience.
