Auguste Escoffier’s spirit of solidarity is well known: it was said that he could not stand social injustice and misery. 90 years later, his spirit lives on in the heart of the Disciples Escoffier, a charitable association that keeps the flame of the great chef’s values alive. Passing on know-how and altruism: these are the watchwords of the Disciples Escoffier. To carry out this mission, Fabio, whose primary objective is to make the association shine, has a clear vision: to place greater emphasis on training young people, while deploying a calendar of supportive and engaging events.
In early January 2026, for Epiphany, 300 galettes des rois prepared by association member France Délices will go on sale in selected outlets around the island – including Enka in La Croisette and S’Arrastu in Tamarin. “The funds raised by these sales will then be donated to The Safe Haven Halfway Home (SHHH), operated by Gender Links, an association fighting for gender equality and women’s rights”, confides Fabio.
Since 2017, SHHH has been taking in young women who have been victims of abuse – physical, sexual, emotional or economic – accompanying them and giving them the skills they need to grow up and gently reintegrate into society. “By dedicating the profits from our sale of galettes des rois to this halfway house, we are transforming our culinary passion into concrete help for the women and children in distress who are accompanied by Gender Links,” he says.
The year will be marked by many other events: Epicurean dinners – either four-handed or led by international chefs – with all proceeds going to NGOs, picnics between Escoffier Disciples, participation in the lime festival in Rodrigues, induction of new Disciples… As usual, the association will skilfully juggle solidarity and passion sharing. 2026 promises to be an exciting year!
