Emtel confirms its position as Mauritius’s leading telecommunications operator. For the financial year ending December 31, 2025, the operator posted revenues exceeding the Rs 4 billion mark for the first time, compared with Rs 3.8 billion the previous year – an increase driven by an expanding customer base and accelerated adoption of its mobile, residential, enterprise and fintech services.

Financial indicators are green across the board. EBITDA climbed 15.3% to Rs 2 billion, while service revenues rose 8.9% to Rs 3.7 billion. Underlying profit before tax jumped by 27.4% to Rs 796 million – a strong signal of rigorous and efficient management.

On the balance sheet, net debt was significantly reduced to Rs 2.6 billion. Shareholders’ equity stood at Rs 1.30 billion. As a sign of confidence, the company paid out Rs 1.1 billion in dividends over the year, including an exceptional portion.

Behind these figures lies a concrete digital transformation: 5G coverage reaching 90% of the population, deployment of a locally hosted sovereign cloud platform, launch of a GPU service – a first in Mauritius – and establishment of a security operations center (SOC) in partnership with an international cybersecurity specialist. In Rodrigues, Eutelsat OneWeb satellite connectivity reduces dependence on undersea cables.

The blink fintech platform also continues to gain ground with merchants and consumers, strengthening Emtel’s digital payments ecosystem. Looking ahead, the operator will continue to focus on customer service excellence, digital platform expansion and operational optimization.
