“I was only a witness, they were the real directors,” says David Constantin of the children in this class at the Aimé Césaire school in Camp Levieux, whom he filmed for ENN TIPA. This documentary will help the association TIPA to deepen and expand its activities after 18 years of art-based action in the service of children. Dominique Bellier
“ Terrain for Interactive Pedagogy through Art ” is the secret formula of these thousands of ” tipas “over the past 18 years in elementary school, thanks to a team that knows how art becomes the ferment of civic values, development and child well-being. TIPA currently reaches 671 pupils in five elementary school in Roche-Bois, Bambous, Camp Levieux, Mangalkhan and Poste de Flacq.
Filmmaker David Constantin followed a class at Aimé Césaire school in Camp Levieux every Monday for a whole school year, led by TIPA facilitator Karen and teacher Véronique. This long period of time shows the arrival of self-confidence and self-awareness, the blossoming of collective awareness, and then the sense of respect and benevolence that gradually permeates behavior.
In these classes, activities are organized according to the child’s rhythm and expressed needs. It’s not a separate bubble, but a dynamic that involves the whole child. This listening encourages a collaborative spirit.
