JONA-Posters Mauritius is the story of a couple: Jonathan Naïgon, a well-known Mauritian caricaturist, and his wife Angèle Zilio-Naïgon, who manages all the logistics. The idea was born after a visit from a friend from Reunion Island, who couldn’t find any souvenirs illustrating Mauritian landscapes to take home.
They set off: Jonathan visits the sites, takes photos, then draws the landscapes that inspire him. Everything is produced locally: illustration, printing and cardboard packaging. Today, the duo offers some twenty poster and postcard designs, sold online and in twenty local boutiques. Their bestseller: Le Morne, appreciated by Mauritians and visitors alike, seduced by this sustainable, local art.
