The final of Konpoz to Lamizik 4 (KTL) was a bouquet of surprises in the setting of the Café du Vieux Conseil, which Jimmy Veerapin has been reviving for several years. Hosted by the excellent Bernard Moonsamy, the show alternated ten quality performances with rhythmic interludes from DJ Kleeo during set changes. The deliberations kept the audience on its toes for a long time, until Amy Rachel & the Soldiers triumphed. Dominique Bellier
The coaching and training provided by members of the Konpoz to Lamizik 4 jury enabled the finalists to improve their stage presence and vocal mastery (etc.), giving their performance even greater aplomb. The audience witnessed the metamorphosis of these artists, who “give birth” to a little more of themselves at each stage of the competition…
Véronique Zuel, who we’re used to seeing in the sumptuous register of the lyric, transformed herself into a show woman on September 4, well after midnight, at the end of over five hours of live music and electro sets by DJ Kleeo, adding her own touch of suspense and teasing a red-hot audience… She even quoted the authors on the keys to success: talent, hard work and luck… Amy Rachel and the Soldiers obviously brought it all together. The audience was won over.
A lifelong love of music and a musician father have enabled Amy Rachel to persevere tirelessly. But without KTL, her creations would have remained in a drawer… She thanks Ashish Beesoondial for the stage coaching, which enabled her to “learn to put into practice what’s hidden deep inside her”. These seggae players performed Imanité, and Asse about battered women. They were followed by the lively and smiling Nula Groove artists Nathaniel and Mozayik, and the typical sega group Kayamba.
