On Sunday July 13, 2025, on the Promenade de Telfair in Moka, the Embassy of France in Mauritius is organizing a major public event, open to all, to celebrate the French national holiday of July 14! On the program from 12:00 pm: a large Republican picnic, numerous cultural, sporting and digital activities, as well as the traditional popular ball!

At 2pm, the brass band kicks off the festivities, with a revisited version of La Marseillaise. Then, street arts – juggling, acrobatics, clowning, urban dance, ravanne demonstrations, Parkour… – will liven things up until 5:45pm.
For the youngsters: a magician, face painting, bouncy castles and other festivities.
For the connected curious: digital activities such as virtual reality immersion, video games, 3D creation, AI exploration…
For sports enthusiasts: pétanque, rugby, soccer, roller/skate… not forgetting Mölkky or tug-of-war!

At 4.30pm, the Police Band will perform on the stage in front of the new embassy building. The performance will be followed by a speech by the French Ambassador to Mauritius, Mr. Frédéric Bontems, at 5.45pm.

As night falls, a three-part show will set the artistic tone – an aerial dance number with the artist Shaheen; a fire show; a video mapping projected onto the façade of the new embassy – while from 6.45pm, the atmosphere will be musical and convivial in the Atrium, with the group Firehawks: an hour of karaoke to the rhythm of French chanson. Finally, DJ Nina Hellis will take over the Atrium until 9:30 p.m., to bring you the grand bal populaire!
