Accélérer la transformation numérique de Maurice et faire du pays un pôle technologique de premier plan dans la région. C’est l’engagement pris par Veemal Gungadin, le nouveau CEO de Mauritius Telecom (MT), de retour au pays après 25 ans.
Fort de deux décennies de leadership technologique à l’échelle mondiale, il sait exactement quels leviers activer pour propulser MT vers le futur. De l’innovation dans les télécommunications à la conduite de grandes transformations numériques, il a laissé son empreinte dans des projets majeurs. En tant que CEO de Gevme, une entreprise spécialisée dans les événements technologiques à Singapour, il a joué un rôle clé dans le déploiement de solutions d’intelligence artificielle innovantes telles que Snapsight et Spark à travers l’Asie, l’Europe et l’Amérique.
Parallèlement, il a noué des partenariats stratégiques importants, comme avec le géant des télécommunications Singtel, pour lequel il a développé myBusiness, le premier portail SaaS destiné aux PME.
Engagé dans la structuration de son secteur, il a également été membre du comité exécutif de la Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) et a dirigé des initiatives fondamentales en matière de durabilité, notamment en présidant le Measurement Committee pour la Singapore MICE Sustainability Roadmap, qui a établi les premiers indicateurs de développement durable pour l’industrie des télécommunications à Singapour.

Accelerating Mauritius’s digital transformation and establishing the country as a leading technology hub in the region. This is the commitment made by Veemal Gungadin, the new CEO of Mauritius Telecom (MT), who returns home after 25 years abroad.
With two decades of global technology leadership experience, he knows exactly which levers to activate to propel MT into the future. From telecommunications innovation to leading major digital transformations, he has left his mark on significant projects. As CEO of Gevme, a technology events company in Singapore, he played a key role in deploying innovative AI solutions like Snapsight and Spark across Asia, Europe, and America.
Concurrently, he formed important strategic partnerships, including with telecommunications giant Singtel, for which he developed myBusiness, the first SaaS portal for SMEs.
Committed to structuring his sector, he also served on the executive committee of Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) and led fundamental sustainability initiatives, notably chairing the Measurement Committee for Singapore’s MICE Sustainability Roadmap, which established the first sustainability indicators for Singapore’s telecommunications industry.
