Misanthropes, abstain! Club Med de Pointe aux Canonniers could live up to this slogan, because the atmosphere here is one of kindness and human warmth. There’s no better way to unwind or get away from it all than with a Day or a Night Pass to live in the friendly atmosphere of the village, with its many leisure activities, healthy and tasty meals, long sandy beach and all kinds of sports facilities!

At 11:30 a.m. at Club Med de la Pointe, aquagym enthusiasts frolic to music in the main pool, their heads raised to the coach, who demonstrates the movements to be performed. All around, holidaymakers and day-trippers come and go, lounging on deckchairs, fruit cocktails in hand. At the same time, at the family pool – a source of pride for the area for its serenity and original design – toddlers are gently learning to play in the water with their parents. Spread over 12 hectares, the resort is spacious enough to satisfy the diverse expectations of guests all too happy to forget the car and stroll along the palm-fringed beach, wander through the lush gardens and enjoy a profusion of activities.

This premium village opened its doors in 1973 at the height of the Mauritian tourism boom. Fifty years later, it’s still going strong. The club is very popular with Mauritian companies, who regularly schedule relaxation days and team-building sessions where their employees can forge closer ties while taking advantage of the leisure facilities. It’s also a great place to celebrate birthdays with family and friends.

Any Mauritian or resident can opt for a Day Pass, Night Pass or full-day pass, which give direct access to two restaurants and two bars, two swimming pools and numerous cultural and sporting activities . Recreational and creative programs are designed for children of all ages, from four months to 17 years. In addition to the swimming pools and beach, adults have access to archery ranges, tennis courts, a fitness area by the sea, a weight room, a boulodrome, volleyball courts and ping-pong tables . Mauritian Day on Mondays, White Night on Wednesdays and Gala on Fridays punctuate the cultural program offered every evening, with themed shows, live music and DJ sessions for dancing.

Every day, La Belle Créole delights a large number of guests, who compose their meals from a variety of buffets: fruit, cheese and starters, grilled meats and sauces, Mauritian specialties, homemade pastas and pizzas, desserts and chocolate fountains, an assortment of breads baked on site… The other restaurant, l’Alma, takes over between meals, with table service and sea views. Assisted by three specialized chefs, Chef Anishal heads a brigade of 65 cooks and 57 waiters. Supplied daily with fresh, local produce, he never compromises on the quality of ingredients and homemade cooking.
