In the elegant setting of the Le Méridien hotel, Maison Scott invited professionals from the hospitality and retail industries to a masterclass dedicated to Italian wines from Maison Bottega. The event—both educational and immersive—was led by Elena Schipani, Corporate Sommelier & Global Trainer at Bottega, and also marked the 15th anniversary of the partnership between the two companies.

Founded in 1635 in the hills of Refrontolo, north of Venice, Bottega has built its reputation on four centuries of winemaking expertise. With more than 450 international awards to its credit, it is now one of the world’s leading names in Italian wine, thanks in large part to its iconic Bottega Gold, which ranks among the most popular sparkling wines among travelers.

During this session, participants were able to deepen their knowledge of the product line, refine their tasting and pairing techniques, and master the brand’s specific service standards. The masterclass also highlighted the brand’s non-alcoholic alternatives—a rapidly expanding offering designed to meet new consumer expectations.

During her week-long stay in Mauritius, Elena Schipani took part in a variety of immersive experiences: food-and-wine pairings, wine dinners, and sunset aperitifs at several hotels across the island, as well as a wine tasting and food pairing event held at L’Épicerie, the establishment recently acquired by Scott. “Every product tells a story—the story of its origin, its craftsmanship, and its identity,” she summarizes, highlighting the deeply human nature of these gatherings.

This initiative is part of Scott’s ongoing training program, based on the belief that the knowledge gained is the key to providing excellent service. Wine enthusiasts wishing to discover Bottega wines can visit any of La Maison Scott’s locations (Grand Baie La Croisette, Tribeca Mall, Riche Terre, or Ruisseau Créole) or go to scott.mu.
