A top-of-the-range Culinary Festival!

A gastronomic rendezvous on the Indian Ocean, the 19e edition of the Constance Culinary Festival took place from March 13 to 21. Celebrating local know-how, the traditional Constance “Mauritian” competitions attracted a large number of participants. The “Best Mauritian Chilli Cake” was won by Dharvesh Mungur and the “Best Mauritian Banana Cake” by Meena Boodhun. Yovilen Etwaroo of Constance Belle Mare Plage won the Jars Arts de la Table trophy. In the Constance Café Gourmand category, Geetanjalee Dalwhoor from Constance Belle Mare Plage was crowned champion!

Among the big winners of the international events, the duo Alban Guilmet and Alexsandra Lacharmante from Constance Belle Mare Plage won the Pierre Hermé Trophy, while Pascal Hainigue, Chef Pâtissier at Auberge de Lill** and Pâtissier de L’année 2025, won the Pièce Artistique Chocolat Valrhona Competition. As for food and wine pairings, Italy’s Simone Cantafio of La Stua De Michil, Corvara In Badia Bz, took the Deutz Trophy, while the duo Sébastien Grospellier and Soniya Mehra of Constance Lemuria Seychelles won the Régis Marcon Trophy. An edition rich in creativity!
