Blast, the Indian Ocean’s leading independent, integrated communications agency, has just been crowned “Agency of the Year 2026” in Africa by PRovoke Media, the world’s leading PR agency – ex-aequo with Woodrow Communications! This distinction was awarded following a shortlist of eleven strong contenders, including international behemoths such as Edelman and WE Communications.

This title didn’t just fall from the sky. It crowns an exceptional year for the agency founded in 2004 by Aisha Allee, and which this May celebrates its 22e anniversary. Last March, Blast had already won a Diamond SABRE Award at the African SABRE Awards, the highest distinction in the Research and Planning category, thanks to its proprietary Blast Tracker methodology. In total, the agency has won 17 international and local awards in its two decades of existence, a rare feat for an independent structure of its size in the region.

“Being voted best agency in Africa shows that in Mauritius, it’s possible to shine on the international stage if we give ourselves the means to innovate, push our limits and always aim for excellence,” stresses Aisha. Her Managing Director, Lekha Seebaluck, agrees: “What makes me proud is not the award in itself. It’s the proof that you can build a rigorous professional practice, while remaining a company that grows, takes risks and innovates.” This is true Mauritian pride for Blast, which, according to Paul Holmes, founder of PRovoke Media, is on a par with the best agencies in London or even New York, and all this from a modestly sized market!
