A regular visitor to the Clinique Darné, where he worked alongside his father, an anesthetist, from the 1980s onwards, Dr Bhunjun was offered the opportunity to open and manage a dental practice within the clinic ten years ago. Today, C-Care has four Dentcare dental centers, recognized throughout the island for their excellence.
38 years of experience and passion – that’s worth its weight in gold! C-Care, then Fortis, naturally turned to Dr. Bhunjun, a regular in the clinic’s operating rooms since 1987, to set up its first dental department. The idea was forward-thinking: “multi-practitioner practices offer greater efficiency, better profitability and therefore more affordable rates, while guaranteeing consistent excellence in care,” confides Dr. Bhunjun.
Dental check-ups, teeth whitening and polishing, tooth extractions, composite fillings, dental surgery, maxillofacial surgery… Dentcare practices bring together an internationally-trained, multidisciplinary team offering a wide range of treatments and procedures. “Our collegiality is a major asset, enabling us to share experience and help each other on a daily basis. Patients too feel this atmosphere of trust, knowing that they are surrounded by a competent, united team driven by the same demand for quality,” he continues.
What does the future hold for the specialist? We’re talking about the development of a nationwide network of units – and why not internationally? – to uniform standards. “Patients would then know that wherever they went, they would benefit from the same high standards, standardized care, harmonized tariffs and equipment of identical quality, always in the spirit of continuity and excellence”, he says.
Dr. Bhunjun is thinking even bigger, imagining joint sessions in surgery, corrective orthopedics or other disciplines, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from foreign universities and faculties. “All this is perfectly feasible – provided we preserve and strengthen the exceptional support we currently receive from C-Care,” he concludes.
