Just a stone’s throw from Mont Choisy beach, nestled in a verdant setting at the heart of the Be Cosy Apart Hotel, the Ava Beach restaurant, run by experts in Mauritian catering, has established itself as a culinary gem. Since its opening in November 2025, the establishment has welcomed food lovers of all kinds from morning to night. Eugénie Sauzier-de Rosnay

Surrounded by a beautiful tree-lined garden and bordering a crystal-clear swimming pool, the Ava Beach restaurant is a haven of peace where you can enjoy your lunch, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Open for breakfast, dinner and the inevitable evening tapas, the bright, authentic setting welcomes apartment-hotel guests and out-of-town visitors alike. Breakfast delivery, restaurant privatization, catering service… It’s in its versatility that its strength lies!

“We welcome everyone: those returning from the beach as well as those who simply want to indulge, those who want to sample local cuisine as well as those looking for more elaborate dishes,” says Théo Ferrière, the restaurant’s manager. Aiming to offer good value for money, the restaurant draws as much as possible on Mauritian terroir. The catch of the day is bought directly from a local fisherman.

In the kitchen, chef Yaseen Rasmally, also trained in pastry technique and drawing on the vast experience of former chef Pierre Bagatta, plays off his creativity with a particularly dynamic team. “Each signature dish is an architecture of textures conceived with the meticulousness of an entremets, combining the crunchy, the unctuous and the melting”, he explains. Island dishes like venison salmi or chicken and shrimp curry – the restaurant’s best-seller! – are in poetic dialogue with sophisticated dishes, such as aumonière of sea bream or tajine-style lamb mouse, or basics like a burger or Caesar salad. Ultimately, this is the restaurant’s philosophy: there’s something for everyone!
