The countdown is on! On July 25, 2026, Mauritius’ Sud Sauvage will play host to the 10 e edition of the Beachcomber Trail, one of the Indian Ocean’s most breathtaking courses, between mountains, forests, cliffs and shores. And the headliners for this anniversary edition are just beginning to emerge!
On the Reunion Island side, two names stand out. Judicaël Sautron, winner of the 65 km in 2024 and defending champion, will be back to defend his crown on a course he is particularly fond of. In his wake, Amélie Huchet, winner of the women’s 65 km classification at the same event, will also be back. Renowned for her consistency and endurance, the Reunionese runner impressed on the demanding trails of the Sud Sauvage on her very first appearance.
The Mauritian scene will be represented by Stephen Ash, a rising star on the local trail scene. A recent podium finisher in the long-distance trail league and winner of the 13 km Medine Trail, this young runner is approaching the Sud Sauvage as a new challenge to tame. The 2026 edition will also feature Rodrigues, with the participation of the engaging duo Claudia Fong Kye and Marie Roselina Thérèse, aka “Teetee”. Passionate trail runners for over ten years, they embody the very soul of the discipline: “More than performance, what drives us is human adventure. Our sole aim is to cross the finish line together, with a smile on our faces.
From the Trail du Souffleur (10 km), accessible to amateurs, to the Trail du Nautile (25 km) for experienced runners, right up to the fearsome Trail du Sud Sauvage (65 km) with its 2,200 meters of ascent: all converge towards the same spectacular finish on the beach of the Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa.
Please note: the 10 km is already fully booked! Registration for the 25 km and 65 km formats (solo or relay) is open until June 26 on roag.org.
