After several months of renovation, La Table du Château, located in the heart of the Domaine de Labourdonnais, is embarking on a new chapter in its history. The restaurant, which has established itself over the past fifteen years as a must-visit destination on the island, now has a clear ambition: to become a benchmark for Mauritian bistronomy through a contemporary and refined interpretation of local flavors.
Now fully operated by the DDL Group, the restaurant is entering a new era while preserving the authenticity that has built its reputation. The interior spaces have undergone a complete renovation, offering an elegant and contemporary decor that is perfect for relaxation and socializing. The restaurant now welcomes guests daily for lunch, and starting September 4, it will also be open on Friday and Saturday evenings for dinner. It seats 80 guests and offers the option to host private events, celebrations, and custom receptions.
In the kitchen, the new menu—created by Chef Stephano, who has been with the restaurant for over ten years—showcases local Mauritian ingredients: fish from the lagoons, seasonal vegetables, spices, and vanilla from the estate. Among the standout dishes are the catch of the day from the Mauritian coast served with a vanilla emulsion, as well as a venison loin with roasted onions.
During the reopening celebration, Jean-François Lagesse, Managing Director of the DDL Group, emphasized that this venue holds a special place within the estate, facing the château and nestled in the heart of the century-old gardens. According to him, La Table du Château is intended to be “an extension” of the Estate’s gardens, produce, and expertise—a gateway to a broader experience blending heritage, nature, and fine dining. He also announced that, pending the introduction of a full wine list, a selection of non-alcoholic beverages—including homemade artisanal juices—will be offered to guests.
For his part, Jean-Patrick Mamet, Head of Commercial, Leisure & Wellness at the DDL Group, says he wants to “awaken all the senses through a true bistronomic experience,” going beyond a simple exploration of the Château’s culture and heritage.
With this reopening, La Table du Château aims to establish itself as a must-visit gastronomic destination, driven by a passionate team and an exceptional historic setting, unique in the heart of the Domaine de Labourdonnais.
