This first edition will go down in the annals of Mauritian golf. From April 27 to May 4 2026, the Legend Golf Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage played host to the MCB Ladies Classic – Mauritius, the first Ladies European Tour tournament to be held on the island. And the least we can say is that the bar was set very high for this first edition!

Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Sønderby took the title after a breathless final round, posting a superb score of -14 under par and beating Kajsa Arwefjäll and Casandra Alexander, both at -13, by a single stroke. Faced with a field of 120 international players of an exceptional level, victory was decided in the final moments – suspense guaranteed!

Beyond the professional competition, the week also hosted several amateur and junior events, including the Constance Juniors Pro-Am, one of the first competitions of its kind in Mauritius, bringing together 30 young talents alongside the professionals. A fine investment in the future of local golf.

And this moment had a very special flavour: the presence of Ginger Delacrétaz, the first Mauritian player to compete on the Ladies European Tour, left a lasting impression and opened up new prospects for local talent.

For Jean-Jacques Vallet, CEO of Constance Hospitality, the event is a “wonderful celebration of women’s golf” and the start of an unmissable event. For his part, Jean-Michel Ng Tseung, CEO of the MCB Group, hails “Mauritius’s growing appeal on the international sporting scene.”

The date is already set for 2027!
